Selection Process
The candidates whose applications are found in order, shall be issued admit cards (online) to appear in the recruitment tests. The date, time and place of recruitment test will be indicated in the Admit Card. It is clarified that candidatures of candidates who are issued admit cards will remain provisional till they are finally selected.
- Before start of physical efficiency test (PET) and physical standard test (PST) the candidates will undergo thorough verification of identity including Biometric capture.
- Biometric identification of candidates can also be taken at any stage of recruitment.

PHYSICAL EFFICIENCY TEST (PET)

Written Examination (100 Marks): The candidates qualified in PST will be required to pass the written examination (Objective type-OMR Based) consisting of following
Qualifying marks shall be 35% for General Candidates & Ex-Servicemen and 33% for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribes /Other Backward Class in the written examination.
Candidates to the tune of 20 times category wise vacancies will be called to appear in Skill Test of Direct Recruitment on merit basis.
The written test for 50 marks containing 50 questions will consist of only OMR based objective type multiple choice questions to be answered using a Blue or Black Ball pen only. OMR Sheet will be signed both by the candidate and invigilator.

Merit List
After completion of the Practical (Skill) Test, Merit lists in each category namely, Gen, SC, ST, OBC (NCL) and Ex-servicemen will be drawn on the basis of total marks obtained by the candidates in the written examination. The candidates shall be shortlisted for Detailed Medical Examination (DME) as per the category wise vacancies on the basis of this merit. Extended list shall also be prepared to cover the shortfall due to failure of candidates in DME and Review Medical Examination (RME). However, there shall be no reserve list.

General Instructions
All candidates who have been called for Height Bar, PET & PST will bring a clear and legible print out of the online application form submitted by them for purpose of identification, etc, else they may not be permitted to enter the venue.
ITBP Head Constable & Constable 2018 Document Verification
At the very beginning of recruitment process, the candidates will be required to produce the original documents related to Educational and Professional qualifications, date of birth etc. It is important that the candidates applying for this recruitment check their eligibility, to avoid disappointment at later stage. Original documents will be returned on the spot after verification and self attested copies of certificates will be retained with the application. Original copy of following documents will be required for verification:
- Educational Certificate(s);
- Date of birth Certificate as in Matriculation or 10th Class Certificate;
- Professional/Experience Certificate, if any;
- Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Certificate, as Annexure-II and OBC certificate, as Annexure‘III’ (if belonging to any of these categories). Candidates claiming OBC (NCL) status may note that certificate on creamy layer status should have been obtained within three years before the closing date i.e. 31.01.2018;
- Domicile Certificate issued by local revenue authorities or PAN Card or Aadhar Card or Driving License or Voter ID Card or Passport for verification of citizenship. In case of West Pakistani Refugees settled in J&K, they are required to produce Certificate in the format attached as Annexure-‘VI’ issued by the Sarpanch/Numberdar of a candidate’s village to the effect that the person belonged to the West Pakistani Refugees Category, alongwith a copy of Electoral Roll showing the name of the candidate in the voter list for elections to the Parliamentary Constituency;
- Discharge certificate in case of Ex-Servicemen;
- One passport size photograph same as submitted with online application form;
- Certificate as per Annexure ‘V’ for claiming relaxation in height & chest (if applicable).
Note: All candidates claiming relaxation under various categories shall bring aforementioned original documents/certificates at the time of recruitment tests for verification by the Board).
