About Examination
On behalf of the Education Department, Government of Meghalaya, Applications (Online-mode only) are invited from genuine citizens of India who are desirous to apply as per the terms and conditions of this Advertisement for recruitment to the various Lecturer posts existing at 1) Captain Williamson Memorial Government College, Baghmara, 2) Williamnagar Government College, Williamnagar, 3) Kiang Nangbah Government College, Jowai and 4) Tura Government College, Tura, specified in the table below.
Screening Practical Test: This shall be applied/conducted by the Commission in respect of all recruitments to those posts where the method of Skill Test has not been prescribed by the Service Rules.

Candidates must have Post Graduate Degree in the respective subjects with Honours in the subject at the Degree Level. To be eligible to opt for UGC Scale, Candidates must have PhD or NET qualification and must secure 55% (5% relaxation for SC/ST) at Masters Degree Level.
METHOD OF SELECTION
The final selection/ recommendation of suitable candidates against the vacancies notified in this Advertisement shall be made by the Commission through any of the following processes.
- Typing Speed, English Composition and Stenography Test, in recruitment to post of Typist and Stenographer (All Grades) as the case may be.
- Written Examination (Where syllabus has been provided by concerned Department) Personal Interview.
- Screening Test Personal Interview
- Screening Practical Test Personal Interview
- Preliminary Screening Test Main Examination Personal Interview
- Physical Efficiency Test Preliminary Screening Test Main Examination Personal Interview.
- Any other method as may be adopted by the Commission.
Written Examination- This shall be mandatory in respect of recruitments to posts where the Service Rules has specifically prescribed the conduct of such examinations. In such cases, the subjects, syllabus, total marks and pattern of examination shall be as notified by the concerned Government Department under such Rules.

Exam Pattern for Meghalaya PSC Lecturer 2019
- The candidates will have option to give their answer in English (except for test of English Language).
- The written test will be multiple choice objective type.
- There will be 100 Questions/ Marks.
- The question paper will consist of 100 questions on General Intelligence & Reasoning, questions on English Language and questions on Professional Knowledge.
- The time duration will be 2 hours.
Essay Type Test
Written Examination/Main Examination where decided to be held shall be of Essay Typed. The subjects to be notified for such essay typed examination shall be strictly as per the syllabus forwarded by concerned department for the said post.
Physical Efficiency Test PET
Wherever required and prescribed by the Service Rules shall be conducted by the Commission assisted by a Medical Board duly constituted for the purpose, in accordance with the norms/standards and such specification as prescribed under such Rules.
Only candidates who have produced all the required documents in the original relating to their educational qualification, date of birth, caste, community and other certificates wherever required and prescribed by Rules will be deemed qualified to be called for Personal Interview.
Medical Examination
The candidates are also required to pass a Physical test consisting of 25kms walking to be covered within 4 hours for males & 16kms in 4 hours for female followed by Medical Examination by the District Health & Medical Officer, Shillong.
The candidates are required to pay a medical examination fee as prescribed by the Government to the District Health & Medical Officer, Shillong on completion of the walking test before the medical Examination
IDENTITY VERIFICATION for Meghalaya PSC Lecturer 2019
The original certificates/documents of successful candidates will be verified for which dates will be notified after declaration of result. On the basis of written test, the provisionally qualified candidates will be required to produce original certificates of Essential and Desirable Qualifications along with one set of photocopy, duly attested,
The candidate’s identity will be verified with respect to his/her details on the call letter and in the Attendance List. If identity of the candidate is in doubt the candidate will not be allowed to appear for the Online Examination.
