UPSC Geo Scientist and Geologist 2020 Combined Exam Selection Process
As per the decision taken by the Government for increasing the access of unemployed to job opportunities, the Commission will publically disclose the scores of the candidates (obtained in the Written Examination and Interview/Personality Test) through the public portals. The disclosure will be made in respect of only those candidates who will appear in the Interview/Personality Test for the Combined Geo-scientist and Geologist Examination and are not finally recommended for appointment.
Candidates will be required to give their options at the time of Interview/ Personality Test, while acknowledging the e-summon letter mailed to them for interview. A candidate may opt out of the scheme also and in that case his/her details will not be published by the Commission.

Combined Geo-Scientist and Geologist Examination 2020
Note: Candidates will be able prepare for the exam with extra detail on the topics deciding the level of priority for each and accordingly designing a preparation plan for the same. Candidates should also know the detailed paper pattern along with the Geologist 2019 syllabus as it will help them to understand the structure of the question paper.
Candidates must write the papers in their own hand. In no circumstances they will be allowed the help of scribe to write answers for them. However, blind candidates and the candidates with locomotor disability and cerebral palsy where dominant ( writing) extremity is affected to the extent of slowing the performance of function (minimum of 40% impairment) will be allowed to write Combined Geo-Scientist and Geologist Examination with the help of a scribe, Compensatory time of twenty minutes per hour shall be permitted for the Blind candidates and the candidates with locomotor disability and cerebral palsy where dominant (writing extremity is affected to the extent of slowing the performance of function (minimum of 40% impairment) will also be allowed in the Combined Geo-Scientist and Geologist Examination.

UPSC Combined Geo Scientist and Geologist 2019 20 Exam Interview and Personality Test
Interview/Personality Test: The candidate will be interviewed by a Board of competent and unbiased observers who will have before them a record of his/ her career. The object of the interview is to assess his/her suitability for the posts for which he/she has competed. Special attention will be paid in the Personality Test to assessing the candidate’s capacity for leadership, initiative and intellectual curiosity, tact and other social qualities, mental and physical energy, powers of practical application, integrity of character and aptitude for adapting themselves to the field life.
Part I. – Written examination in the subjects as set out in para 2 Above.
Part II. – Interview/ Personality Test of such candidates as may be called by the Commission, carrying a maximum of 200 marks
Tips for preparation of written examination
- All candidates should give maximum time to their study regularly.
- Candidates should make their study time or schedule of the day and accordingly start to preparing i.e. make sure to divide your entire time between all related subjects and prepare accordingly daily.
- Candidates requires to maximum use of flow charts and diagram to understand deeply the concern topic.
- Candidates must regular practice to solve old year examination papers; with this you will be able to increase your knowledge as well as time accuracy.
- Group study is very useful to crack any written examination so we therefore advise to all concern contenders to make a group of eligible and suitable friends and study combindly one or two hour in a day and arise your question before them and explain your answer to others too.
- Time breaks is also essential while preparing hard for any written examination so after 2-3 hours study candidates should take a break of 15-20 minutes for mind fresh.
